Pato Banton sang a song with UB40 -- Baby Come Back. There are plenty of video game characters who have been retired for one reason or another. Some of them we would like to see again. If absence makes the heart fonder, then I am as fond of these characters as I can be. So please join me as we explore the Top Six Characters that Need to Come Out of Retirement. The video game industry goes in trends. We have seen a variety of trends over the decades. Numerous companies tried to create an iconic character in 2D side scrolling adventures. The industry went crazy making 2D fighting games. There was a mad rush to create 3D fighting games. Many companies rushed to put out FPS games. Neopets petpet Adventures The Wand of Wishing

Some video games are rather deceptive in their presentation. Take Neopets petpet Adventures The Wand of Wishing for example. This Playstation Portable (PSP) video game from Sony has some cute looking little characters that remind me of Build a Bear. Unfortunately they are hacking and slashing each other in the most morbid manner. The characters have these smiles on their faces that never match the intense dialog of someone trying to save the world. This is an action adventure game with the smallest amount of role playing aspect to it. Better armor and weapons can be acquired, and there is some leveling up allowed (but that leveling up is not simple).

The graphical department of The Wand of Wishing is okay. There are plenty of different areas with specific themes. The 3D graphics, and the animation is disappointing. The violent images also do not fit this game very well at all. Dead bodies are left on the ground to annoy those with morals.

The sounds in The Wand of Wishing are decent. The music can be interesting at times, and others just annoying. The special effect sounds made me cringe, but watching cute characters dismantle one another has something to do with that. There were a few rare occurrences of questionable language being used.

Sony included a lengthy quest for those who can stomach the difficulty of this PSP video game. There are enough weapons and armor to keep most interested, however they do not keep pace with the enemies. Even though this game can be found for under 20 US dollars, I would say pass on it.

The two biggest problems with The Wand of Wishing is in the game play section. The load times take forever, and the difficulty is tweaked so high only the most hardcore gamer can get through this game. But few of them will take an interest in the cute characters. Sony messed up with the target audience.

I consider The Wand of Wishing to be a wolf in sheep clothing. The cover of this one makes it look like a good game for kids, however the content is anything but. It was an amazing chore to play and review this Playstation Portable video game. I do not want to see any sequels to The Wand of Wishing. Steer clear of this game.
