NBA 2K10

2K Sports has done an honorable thing by bringing NBA 2K10 to the Wii. I am very pleased to play this game on the Wii. I will tell you guys out there right now that you better have your Wii connected to a router, or turn that option off from the beginning. If you don’t you will be sitting there waiting on the internet connection to fail. If you are connected then you can play NBA 2K10  with updated rosters that match what is going on in the league right now. 2K Sports has done a great job with the flow and defense in NBA 2K10. This Wii game feels like a professional basketball game. There are in game advertisements that are just like watching a game on television.

The courts look great in NBA 2K10. The players and cheerleaders look a little blurred. I understand that the Wii does not have the power of say the Playstation 3, so porting this game over obviously meant something had to be dropped. The uniforms of the players looks very realistic. Characters animate well,  and there is a level of realism to certain players. What I mean is a big older player will move slower than the younger smaller players.

I have really read some developers/publishers the riot act in the past concerning lyrical content in basketball games. NBA 2K10 allows the player to pick and choose which songs will be playing. That track list is huge by the way. I found some songs I enjoyed, especially the Champion song. The announcers do a decent job of keeping up with the action. There were times that they seemed a little too quiet for me.

NBA 2K10 has so many options that you will spend a few days just becoming familiar with them. There are numerous teams from the current era, and from the past. The Living Rosters, Signature Play, and My Player Mode are some of my personal favorites. Four family members can play NBA 2K10 together. There are also online modes where you can play with people who are not in your living room.

2K Sports included various control schemes, and functionality in NBA 2K10. I had fun playing this Wii game. I do have one complaint about NBA 2K10, and that is shooting. Pointing the Wii Remote up to the ceiling to shoot felt strange to me. I kept trying to do real shooting motion with my Wii Remote, or wanting to press a certain button. The computer will burn you if you take too long in shooting. They will also burn you if you try to reach in too often. I felt a real good basketball flow to NBA 2K10.

I noticed few fouls while playing NBA 2K10. Which equated to playing basketball cleanly. I would love to see a sequel to NBA 2K10. The cheerleaders are not really needed, and I would like to see some a better way of shooting the basketball. All in all a lot of good basketball action.
