My Sims Racing

My Sims Racing is one of the best racing games I have played on the Nintendo DS is a long time. Electronic Arts (EA) has done a masterful job of mixing the kart racing genre with their My Sims franchise. I got to drive around town, do chores for various characters in town. They would reward me for my time, and those items could be used to build better parts (or vehicles) in the garage. The blueprints came from winning the different races. The presents in the races contain items like an acorn (which produces a tree), shields, bubbles (traps a vehicle for a couple of seconds), soccer balls, and pumpkins.

The graphics in My Sims Racing is way better than I was expecting. The 3D models of everything looks good and there are a lot of great colors in this game. EA included more areas than I was expecting and enough races to keep family members busy for weeks. The violence in My Sims Racing is lower than Mario Kart DS in my opinion.

I really enjoyed the music in My Sims Racing. There is also a variety and diversity to the sounds based on the area the family member is playing in. The characters have their own little strange language that actually started to grow on me over time. I did not notice any offensive language while playing this DS game.

The level of customization in My Sims Racing is impressive. There are a nice array of parts and vehicles the family member can use in My Sims Racing. There are also a lot of characters to interact with, and mini missions to perform. EA included download play for up to two players, and four players if there are multiple game cartridges present. I feel that My Sims Racing is worth your hard earned dollars.

The race tracks in My Sims Racing are fun. I enjoyed playing them, and racing against others. Getting to drive around town is awesome. If you have played other kart racing games you will probably feel right at home playing My Sims Racing. Newcomers need to pay attention to the map on the bottom screen to find their way to the races. Once you are there work hard to finish first. The learning curve in My Sims Racing is set just right.

Most racing games are just about getting to the finish line first. My Sims Racing has a lot of tasks helping others. I appreciated how integrated everything was in this game. Win races for blueprints, then help others to get the materials to create the parts. Finally put the parts on, and try harder races.
