My Little Pony Twinkle Wish
SCORE: 85
My Little Pony Twinkle
Wish is a cute little DVD for girls. The ponies go on a quest to save
the Wishing Star after a dragon steals it. This all happens around the
"Winter Festival." I think this happens around the time of Christmas,
since there is an evergreen tree, and a star at the top of the tree. The
various ponies have interesting personalities that girls can relate to.
Pinks, purples, and yellows dominate My Little Pony Twinkle Wish, which
is fine with me. Even the dragon is shown as a friendly character.
Children find the characters in My Little Pony Twinkle Wish to be very
approachable. The Wishing Star is also animated as a character. There
are images of heroics, helping one another, theft, and doing the right
thing.
My Little Pony Twinkle Wish has an almost obsession with the wish word.
It did not bother me, I just noticed it. The songs are cute and kids
will happily sing a long with them. In fact that is one of the bonus
features on this DVD. The songs can get stuck in your head ladies, so be
prepared to be hearing the theme song long after you watched this DVD
with your children.
I am impressed with the bonus content on this DVD. There are coloring
pages, previews of other products, Sing-A-Longs, and additional
animation. The Elefun and Friends animated short was a nice touch that
appeals to the younger members of the family. The entire play time is
around 81 minutes, which is better than a lot of children's products we
have reviewed.
The menu screens on My Little Pony Twinkle Wish are easy to click
through. I enjoyed the art work on the screens, and there is a lot of
good stuff in the story. Friendship, lying, and fixing a mistake are
some of the main ones. Little girls were enthralled with My Little Pony
Twinkle Wish, and enjoyed this cartoon. I found it to be fun in a cute
way as well.
My Little Pony Twinkle Wish teaches lessons about being truthful, coming
clean, and how to become someone's friend. These are the kinds of things
that will appeal more to girls than boys. The first two lessons are good
for boys, but the "think pink" will turn them off. I would like to see
more DVD's like this from Shout Factory in the future, especially if
Christmas is included.
