Mini Ninjas

Mini Ninjas may become one of the best ninja games of all time. Eidos and Warner Bros Interactive have provided one of the most important facets of a ninja video game - stealth. Players can go into tall grass, go into stealth mode, and bypass fighting. In fact boss battles are some of the few battles the player has to fight. The WMG appreciates the choice to avoid violence. Anyone who knows anything about ninjas know they only use violence as the last resort. The story involves an evil samurai who imprisons woodland creatures in samurai armor, thus creating an evil army. The best ninjas were sent one at a time to stop this evil, and none of them returned. The final two ninjas that are left get sent on a quest to save the world.

Mini Ninjas has a real soft look to it. The violence frees woodland creatures like Sonic the Hedgehog games. Different areas have a theme like snow, forest, mountains, etc. The WMG really likes the little details that are included in this game. The animations are fantastic, and the play areas can be huge with plenty of hidden areas. There are some crude images used in humor like knocking off an enemies belt and having his pants fall down a little.

The voice acting in Mini Ninjas is excellent. The music fits the theme of this game masterfully. The magical element is fantasy based, and used to progress through the game. There is a recurring theme of helping the oppressed in this game.

There are a lot of hidden areas, and items in Mini Ninjas. The movie scenes can be rewatched after the player has seen them in the main story mode. Mini Ninjas allows the player to collect quite a few different items, and some are cleverly hidden.

The WMG had a lot of fun playing Mini Ninjas. The fighting part can get a little repetitive, however the ninjas have a lot of different skills. Each ninja controls different, and possessing animals offers different controls as well. The magic spells can assist the player get through difficult parts, or find items.

Mini Ninjas teaches players to fight against evil, free the oppressed, and to have quick reflexes. The possessing of animals concerned the WMG on paper. Once this game was played, the WMG realized this aspect was not as it sounds. Sequels to this franchise would be welcome.
