MechAssault 2 Lone Wolf

MechAssault 2 Lone Wolf is the classic example of a video game sequel that was not needed, nor was it really wanted. This Xbox video game is set in the Battletech science fiction fantasy environment. Humans have these huge robot machines called: “Mechs” that they use as part of their military endeavors. So this game pretty much boils down to getting into large robots and blowing up the opposing army. The player starts out in a very small armor that is just barely larger than the person inside. Once a mech is disabled, then the player can get inside that and start to destroy even larger machines.

MechAssault 2 Lone Wolf has a mindnumbingly huge amount of violence. This Xbox video game might even give Hitler a run for his money with the amount of murders found within. There is also blood in this game, that goes along with the consistent explosions. A lot of the graphics are dark, and bland, which is strange for the Xbox.

How the ESRB could miss some of the language issues is beyond me (well since they do not actually play the games they rate it makes sense). There is a lot of confusion I found in how to perform certain mission objectives. The game will give a verbal instruction, which is occasionally helpful. More often than not I have no idea what the game wanted me to do.

Xbox Live is included for those who want to go and digitally murder strangers online. I really see little reason to replay MechAssault 2 Lone Wolf. I suppose I should state I see no reason to play this kind of garbage in the first place. Do not waste your money on this one.

MechAssault 2 Lone Wolf is absolutely no fun to play. Shoot them, and avoid their shots at you. Do that millions of times and that is the entire game play experience in this clunker. The controls are clunky, and aggravating. I found areas where following the verbal directions were impossible via the game play. Meaning the game play was too limited to complete the objectives, so another way was needed.

MechAssault 2 Lone Wolf is one of the games that makes the video game industry look bad. No more sequels to boring, extremely violent, and pointless games are needed. This Xbox game fits into that category. Women are more than sexual objects, and there are solutions other than murder to problems. I was embarrassed to be playing this one.
