Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 picks up (in terms of game play) where the original game left off. Players get to take on the role of their favorite Marvel super heroes, and dismantle as many of the bad guys as they can. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is essentially Gauntlet done with super heroes taken to a higher level. Families should note that this game is rated ‘T’ for Teen, meaning this is for the older members of the family only.

The character models are fantastic, and have to be seen to be believed. I did not know the Wii could produce such nice graphics. There is a lot of punching, kicking, and explosions in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. The player can not progress in certain areas unless they destroy all the bad guys in said area. Certain female costumes are similar to what is in the comic books, which means they accentuate their bodies.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 has some funny one liners from Spider-man. Not all of the characters are as pleasant though. The dialogue is very similar to a lot of comic books. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 does have some language problems, so be prepared. I do not see the point in using bad language myself. The music fits the theme of the game, and is really good. As you progress you can pick different team members so you can avoid ones that you do not like.

Activision included a lot of super heroes, and villains in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. There are alternate costumes, multiple difficulty settings, and additional extras in this game. Certain costumes were not to my liking though. Up to four players can play Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 at the same time.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 has a lot of commands. It took me some time to figure out all of the controls. At times the control instruction was on the screen, but I was having trouble making it work. I eventually figured out how to make these work, but it frustrated me a little bit. Different characters have diverse special attacks, and that is part of the fun of this game. The other part is using characters that were unlocked. Certain teams give special bonuses so some experimentation is in order. I had fun playing for a time. Destroying so many enemies did get older after awhile.

The super heroes in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 are out to save the world from the super villains. To do so they must wade through countless little bad guys. How do super villains always lose, yet they can inspire so many people to protect them? Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is an improvement over the first game.
