Madden NFL 10
SCORE: 90
I having been playing Madden games for a very long time now. They
have been one of the constants in the video game industry that I have
always appreciated and enjoyed. To be honest Madden NFL video games have
become a warm blankee to me. They are comfortable, and always there for
me. As John Madden ages I realize that as great as this franchise has
been, a day is coming where there will be major change.
EA Sports improved the graphics in Madden NFL 10 in quite a few ways
that makes this game look more realistic. The line between watching a
game on television, and watching it on a video game is getting closer
every single year. The animations in the stands, and on the field are a
lot more realistic this year. Football style of hitting occurs in Madden
NFL 10, but it is never over the top.
The commentators continue to thrill me in this series. Sure they will
occasionally get something wrong. That has more to do with the pace of
the action in my opinion. I am not always a fan of the sound track
selections in sports game, which is why I appreciate the option in
Madden NFL 10 to turn the music down to zero (or off). I have been to
NFL games before, and would love to see a video game capture the audio
feel of say Qwest Fields.
I really have no idea how EA can cram so many options in Madden NFL 10.
Four players can play locally, or across the Internet. There are so many
modes that you will spend months exploring all of them. Then the mini
games can be worked on until you realize you have gotten your money's
worth. Madden NFL 10 has a lot of replay value to it. There are also
different teams to be played and the 5 on 5.
After playing Madden NFL 09 I thought there was nothing else EA could
add to make this franchise easier. I was wrong, and Madden NFL 10 proves
that. Flicking the Wii Remote while running decides which direction the
ball carrier will go. Pointing the receiver you want to pass two is a
second new game play mechanic that works brilliantly. Madden NFL 10 is a
lot of fun to play for one to four players.
Madden NFL 10 is one of those games that can bring family members
together. If you do not have family or friends to play with in person,
then you can go online and challenge players. I would advise you to be a
good sport whether you win or lose. I really can not wait to see what EA
comes up with next year in the Madden NFL franchise. I will have to wait
another year though.
