Jonas

The Jonas Brothers have made a major impact in music, and television. The Disney franchise now has a Nintendo DS game. Jonas plays like a television episode, but it also includes concerts. Fans of Jonas will love this hand held video game. What about those of ya'll who are not fans? Is there anything for you? I hope to be able to answer that question in this review. The short answer is it will depend on you, and your tastes.

The images are in Jonas are almost always safe for the entire family. Fans can rip of clothes of the band, so your character (you play band members) may be missing part of their pants for example. The goal of course is to avoid the excitable fans. The details are better than I was expecting. The Nintendo DS is not a graphical power house, so the brothers in this DS game resemble their real life counter parts. They do not however look exactly like them. Seeing them raise their hands for example will illustrate this point.

The music in Jonas is excellent. There are parts of songs from the band that are playing all over this game. Even if you are not a Jonas fan you should be able to appreciate their musical talents. If you have seen the television show then you already know some of the lessons in this game (editor: since you are playing television episodes). I really liked the first one, which was about living a normal life. The parents in Jonas have a strong role, and I liked seeing that.

Only one player can play Jonas at a time. The stories will take some time to complete. Concert performances is where the main replay is in this Nintendo DS video game. I would have liked to see more extras included personally. Jonas fans will happily spend their money on this game, the rest I am not so sure about.

The touch screen controls work great in Jonas. Just be careful where you walk because you can run into fans, or exit a screen if you are not aware of your surroundings. The action adventure puzzle levels were an interesting diversion. Jonas contains some strategy, and links it to music playing. I had fun playing Jonas, and feel it is solid game based on the band.

Families will find a lot to like in Jonas. The family is a good solid unit. The brothers are very respectful, kind, and considerate. There is a real genuine sense of humor in this franchise. Jonas on the Nintendo DS is a good start for this franchise. I would like to see sequels, mainly because it is great to see strong families in the video game industry. The whole getting crazed over a person who plays a musical instrument never made much sense to me though.
