Music games are all the rage, which is nice because musicians now have a genre to port their music into. Hannah Montana Rock out the Show on the Playstation Portable (PSP) is like an episode of the television show. Hannah is touring all over the globe, and friends of hers stop by for some comedic action. I have seen the show, and am not sure if the comedy is an exact fit, but it is close. Disney Interactive Studios also made sure to let the player mess around with the wardrobe of Hannah Montana and her dancers. Hannah Montana Rock out the Show contains eleven songs in seven different concerts.
I have come to expect a lot from PSP video games in terms of graphics. Hannah Montana Rock out the Show was somewhat of a letdown for me. There are a lot of colors, and some nice flair to the artistic style. In fact doing well in Hannah Montana Rock out the Show makes it look like a greeting card. I felt a lot of the animations looked stiff, and many of the dances were repetitive.
If you like Hannah Montana’s songs then you are going to love the music in Hannah Montana Rock out the Show. I have never really been into her music, but these songs are still stuck in my head. I just wish there had been some more songs included. The humor in this PSP game is clean, albeit a little corny. I did not find any of it offensive in any way, shape or form.
Hannah Montana Rock out the Show can be beaten in a few hours. Let that sink in for a minute. The thing that saves this hand held video game is there are multiplayer modes. Players can replay concerts if they want to, but honestly replaying the same song to score higher did not appeal to me. There is a nice level of attire choices, so girls will get into that.
The controls are simple in Hannah Montana Rock out the Show, and the game explains them before you try. The only way I could see anyone failing at this PSP game is if they did not read the instructions. I easily beat almost every single concert at the first attempt, so Hannah Montana Rock out the Show is on the easy side. I find it really cool that Disney Interactive Studios included a way to design your own stage and dance routines.
Hannah Montana Rock out the Show is about enjoying life, and
performing for others. I would like to see a sequel to this game
especially if there are more songs, and stages included. Maybe if it was
more like the TV show with a lesson learned in a couple of episodes.
