Hannah Montana Keeping It Real

I did not know what to expect from Hannah Montana Keeping It Real. My niece is into the television show, but I had never seen it before. I do know of some of the scandals that have surrounded Miley Cyrus. So I was not sure what to expect. The show revolves around a teenage girl who is the rock star Hannah Montana, but hides her identity so she can live a normal life. A lot of the plot revolves around her keeping her identity secret. What I was not expecting from this DVD was humor. I found myself laughing in almost every episode. The first episode was corny, but business picked up after that one.

Hannah Montana Keeping It Real surprised me with the attire choices as well. I expected the Hollywood kind of look where young girls are trying to show off what little is starting to grow. The attire choices are much better, and a lot of that has to do with layering. Hannah Montana may wear something tight fitting, but then has something over it. For example a mini skirt over tight fitting jeans. The colors she uses along with plenty of tasteful dresses impressed me. I should warn the viewer there is some disgusting images in a few episodes like a teenage boy shaving his armpit hair.

Almost every episode teaches a lesson. Most of the episodes in Hannah Montana Keeping It Real start with someone wanting to do the wrong thing, take the wrong path, etc. They usually take it and learn from the mistake. The father figure is usually there to administer the punishment. I found some of his punishments to be very creative. I did not catch any bad language when I was watching this DVD.

Extra, extra read all about it. Sorry I have been wanting to do that for a long time in a review. Hannah Montana Keeping It Real has two major extras on the DVD. An extra episode - Hannah Montana Ready, Set, Don’t Drive. The other is a short feature - Miley’s Makeover: Hannah gets a new look. Both of these are interesting, but to be honest I was hoping for more. I really wish studios would release entire seasons not just six episodes.

Hannah Montana Keeping It Real has a nice layout and design to the menu screens. I found it was easy to navigate through the various screens. The Disney Fastplay is also a nice feature that has become standard. I enjoyed watching these episodes, and look forward to a seeing an entire season of the show.

I like the real life lessons in Hannah Montana Keeping It Real. Some of the concepts are to be who you are, do the right thing, wear sunscreen, be patient, listen to your parents, and be content with what you have. The whole secret identity thing for a rock star is a nice twist. I love how her father is part of the show, and he brings a real calming influence to Hannah Montana Keeping It Real.
