Go Play Circus Star

Go Play Circus Star is another Wii game that works with the Wii Remotes and the Balance Board. I personally love these games that get me up off the couch, on the balance board and burn some calories while I am gaming. Go Play Circus Star is essentially a mini game compilation based on the circus. Players win and lose fans based on how well they perform things like riding elephants, getting shot out of a cannon, and throwing knives near a rotating dummy (hitting the balloons). There are fifteen events that can be performed. The ringmaster who gives instructions is a nice little touch, and adds to the feel of Go Play Circus Star.

There a very bright and colorful look to Go Play Circus Star. The characters have some decent animations, and the game is generally safe to families. An example would be missing the target from the cannon - the character falls on their behind. You can hit the dummy with the knives when you throw them, however you lose points for that. Certain female characters dress as they do in the circus, so keep that in mind as well.

Go Play Circus Star has some great instructions and advice in how to play the game. I like it when games explain to me how to play a mini game right before I actually play it. This may seem like a little thing, but you would be amazed at how many games I have played that don’t do this. I like the goal of trying to do a good job, and be a great performer.

Four players can compete against one another at the same time with Go Play Circus Star. Getting to the goal of 5,000 fans takes awhile. Many of the mini games will need to be replayed multiple times. It felt a little slow in earning enough cash to unlock other events, but that may just be me. I feel for the exercise factor alone this game is worth the money.

The controls in Go Play Circus Star are brilliant. I easily learned each mini game, and performed them. They do get more difficult along the way, so keep that in mind. I love getting on the Wii Balance board and balancing while playing these games. I had a lot of fun playing Go Play Circus Star, as did others who played with me.

Go Play Circus Star teaches the art of performing in the circus. Hopefully kids won’t want to run away and join the circus after playing this Wii game (I am joking). I would like to see sequels to this franchise, and wish there had been more mini games included. Pleasing others is a small lesson I gleaned off of this Wii game as well.
