Forza Motorsport 2 on the Xbox 360 is one of the better racing games I have played. A plethora of cars, tracks, and parts can be found in this green machine racing video game. Microsoft worked diligently to make a game for the hardcore racing fans, and the casual racing fans at the same time. The different vehicles control differently which adds some realism to this Xbox 360 video game. I learned to be careful in Forza Motorsport 2 because damages done to the car were taken out of my winnings at the end of the race.
Forza Motorsport 2 has some very nice graphics. The details of the vehicles, tracks, parts, and designs are spectacular. The customization Microsoft allowed is appreciated. I loved putting the cross, or Christian fish as the design on my vehicles. Family Friendly Gaming can also be advertised on the vehicle and then other players on Xbox Live could see it. There is a little cartoon violence as the cars can crash into walls, and each other. The game generally discourages this with its financial punishment, but there are some very dirty racers out there on Xbox Live.
The music in Forza Motorsport 2 is nice. I enjoyed it, but would prefer to hear some Michael W. Smith, or Hillsong personally. The special effect sounds made me feel like I was actually racing one of these vehicles. I did not catch any offensive sounds while playing Forza Motorsport 2.
Most games that fall under the sports genre have a lot of replay value. Not all racing games fit into that mold though. Thankfully Forza Motorsport 2 has a ton of replay value in it. There are plenty of cars to purchase, along with parts, and tracks to unlock. Add in the online races and this game can last for years. I rarely find games worth the price of admission but I feel Forza Motorsport 2 is.
I had some trouble with the controls at first because they are so touchy and I was using the Xbox 360 controller. Once I adapted, and tried some different vehicles I really got into a groove. The in game assistance really helped me in the beginning, and made a difficult game bearable. I had fun playing Forza Motorsport 2.
I really like how
Microsoft included the punishment system for messing up a vehicle in a
race. It trained me to do the right thing, and to avoid the easy way out
in a racing situation. I would love to see some sequels to this
franchise, especially if Microsoft releases a hand held video game
machine. Forza Motorsport 2 is safe for the entire family, however not
everyone in the family will be able to successfully play this Xbox 360
video game.
