Fifa Soccer 10

Soccer fans have appreciated the Fifa Soccer franchise for many years now. Electronic Arts (EA) has done a fantastic job with Fifa Soccer 10 on the Wii. This sports simulation game is approachable by rookies and veterans alike. The two control schemes are part of that intelligent design. Fifa Soccer 10 contains thirty leagues with 570 teams, and 12,500 players from around the globe.

There were times I thought I was actually watching a real soccer game while playing Fifa Soccer 10. The up close details of the players faces are okay. The body styles, and animations are spectacular. The multiple replay angles after a goal is scored is amazing. You have to watch it to see what I am talking about. You can slide into other players, thus knocking them down. Every time I did this I got a penalty called on me, so Fifa Soccer 10 encourages players to play clean.

The announcers in Fifa Soccer 10 also made this soccer game feel realistic. They got excited when I scored goals, which added a layer of realism. I do not know a lot about the various leagues, but I appreciated seeing them. I did not hear any offensive comments while listening to the commentators.

With so many teams, players, leagues and stadiums - Fifa Soccer 10 will keep you busy for as long as you stay interested in this Wii game. EA included various modes so you can take your team to the top. Four family members can play Fifa Soccer 10 together. I feel that your money is well spent on Fifa Soccer 10 for the Wii.

I tried both controls in Fifa Soccer 10. I preferred the more advanced personally. The other mode (easier mode) felt like I was doing more watching than playing. That may be just me. I did enjoy the arcade style gameplay, even though the realistic soccer action is more fun in my book. Fifa Soccer 10 controls great, and in order to score you will have to know what you are doing. An example would be passing from one player to another, and have the second (or third) shoot the goal.

Family Friendly Gaming is happy to see EA embracing the family with games like Fifa Soccer 10. I learned strategies, to avoid the opposing team, and to win cleanly. I am sure EA will continue this franchise, however I would like to see sequels. Fifa Soccer 10 is safe for the entire family, and it was my pleasure to review it.
