Family Fun Football

Family Fun Football is an arcade style of football game that feels similar to arena football. The entire field is 50 yards, and the player chooses from four different plays. On special teams there are only three plays to choose from. Quarters are are also pretty short, but this is not a football simulation. It is a fun little football game that is approachable for the entire family. Okay to be technical babies would not be able to play this game, but then they would not be capable of playing any Wii game.

The graphics in Family Fun Football are bright colorful, and a lot of fun. I have to admit I was smiling to see frog heads on a certain team. There is football violence as players will tackle one another. Tackled players usually get up all woozy with little birdies around their heads. Special powers are available, and they can really help or hurt - depending upon whether you are giving or receiving.

Family Fun Football has some good music that fit the theme of this game. Going back to the special effects, the sounds of that always startled me. Especially if I was receiving. There is no sports commentary, but that is not really needed. Hints are shown while Family Fun Football is loading, and that is appreciated here at Family Friendly Gaming. I did not find any offensive sounds while playing this Wii game.

Four family members can play Family Fun Football at the same time. There are a lot of party aspects to this Wii game that make this a fun one for families. There are ten teams along with some unlockables. I found Family Fun Football to be worth the price of admission.

This is one of those video games that I had a lot of fun playing. Family Fun Football is very easy to play. Flick the Wii Remote to hike, and throw a pass. Use the Nunchuk to run around the field. Okay you have to pick a receiver when passing, but that is simple enough to learn. Only four plays can be a bit of a downer, but there are ten mini games as well.

I like the fresh and fun feel to Family Fun Football. This is a real high quality product that could be used as an entrance into sports games. There was a lot of great little touches to this game like the Mii being used as the coach. I would like to see a sequel to Family Fun Football, especially if there are some additional plays to choose from. The various characters that make up teams is a really cool idea that I would like to see explored further in the future.
