Emergency Disaster Rescue Squad
SCORE: 93
Emergency Disaster Rescue Squad is a new Nintendo DS video game that
teaches gamers how to handle disasters from the emergency personnel
side. One of the most outstanding lessons early is to make the
environment secure before sending in the medical personnel. The quicker
a situation is resolved the better score the player attains. Take too
long and people can die.
The graphics look great in Emergency Disaster Rescue Squad. Everything
from the buildings to the fires look realistic. Sure it is on the
smaller scale, but they look a lot better on the DS than I was expecting
them to. There are images of fire, and people laying on the ground
injured. None of these bothered me personally, but if you have a weak
stomach keep these facts in line.
The music in Emergency Disaster Rescue Squad fits the theme of being a
rescue worker perfectly. I was totally into the instructions, and
helpful assistance the game had to offer as well. Interviewing
witnesses, and suspects as a police officer was a nice touch as well.
The entire lesson on helping those in need and being mindful of my
dangerous environment resonated well.
Emergency Disaster Rescue Squad is one of those games that I spent a lot
of time playing. I enjoyed this game immensely, and cherished every
single level. Some multi-player modes would have been nice, but
certainly not needed in this kind of a hand held video game. I feel that
Emergency Disaster Rescue Squad is worth your hard earned dollars.
The controls in Emergency Disaster Rescue Squad are exquisite. Touch on
a character and a little menu comes up around them. Pick the right
option, and then touch where you want them to perform this action. It
took a minute to learn the controls, and they work perfectly. I wish
more DS games could be like this one.
The major lessons in Emergency Disaster Rescue Squad are good for all of
us to remember, especially when we are stuck in traffic behind an
accident. Yes we are being inconvenienced, but someone up ahead may be
dying. This puts a lot of perspective into what is important. I would
love to see a sequel to this game, especially if some download options
are included.
