EA Sports Active More Workouts

I have decades of working out at gyms under my weight belt. In fact in terms of years I have worked out just a little less than I have played video games. I know a few things about gyms, working out, exercise, and healthy living. So I was very excited to get to play EA Sports Active More Workouts. Family Friendly Gaming missed the original game, so we approached the sequel without a baseline knowledge. This turns out to be a good thing, because I always wonder how easy it is for people to get into a sequel when they have not played the original.

Graphically there are multiple parts of EA Sports Active More Workouts. The first part is the videos that show players how to perform the exercises. Then there is the graphical representation (avatar if you will) of the players on screen character. EA Sports transitions between the two masterfully. Female characters, and trainers wear work out appropriate attire. I did not find these to reach the level of enticement to lust. In my decades at various gyms across the country I have seen a lot worse.

Positive encouragement is the core of the trainers in EA Sports Active More Workouts. If you make mistakes the trainer waits patiently for the player. The instructions are helpful, and informative. These tutorial instructions happen the first time an exercise is performed. They are included in an area of the menus if you want to watch them again.

There are thirty-five new exercises in this Wii home console video game. The six week challenge is the big draw to EA Sports Active More Workouts. I like being able to customize my very own work out in a way that works best for me. Two family members can exercise at the same time with EA Sports Active More Workouts.

A few exercises took a few attempts to figure out, but the majority of them are easy to pick up and learn. I had a few problems with the leg strap (which is not included with this game by the way). It fell down my leg a few times. I know I can be extremely intense when I work out, so  am thinking my power had the most to do with it. The various ways players can exercise is very extensive. Certain exercises also work with the Wii Balance Board as well.

I love games that get us off the couch, and help us burn calories. EA Sports Active More Workouts is such a game. I also believe this game deserves the crown of best exercise game on the Wii. Bob Greene’s The Best Life Diet book is also included. I should warn our readers that the introduction from Oprah Winprey has some words that can offend (editor: she uses the Lord’s name in vain). I hope EA continues this franchise for years to come.
