Cate West The Vanishing Files

Cate West The Vanishing Files is another I Spy kind of video game on the Wii. There have been a rash of these in the last twelve months. Finding a list of items, and telling the differences between two pictures keeps the mind active. The zoom in feature with the magnifying glass may be the best way to search for hidden images. Cate West helps the police solve crimes thanks to her special psychic abilities. This ability is used when Cate West picks out which of the suspects is the exact criminal. The player matches up the characters with the clues and singles out the bad guy (or girl).

Cate West The Vanishing Files has some levels with bright colors, and others that are pretty dark. This Wii game is all about using your eyesight to find things that are hidden. There are some images that fit into the theme of a mystery, and a few that might scare younger members of the family. Cate West The Vanishing Files earns its E10+ rating, so please keep that in mind. Destineer gives the player a select amount of hints in case you hit that wall.

The sounds are themed perfectly for Cate West The Vanishing Files. They can get eerie at times, and the WMG noted a younger family member nearby was not impressed by them. The psychic stuff may bother some of our readers as well. The WMG was not too pleased with that aspect of this game. Helping out the police is a welcome message though.

Cate West The Vanishing Files has a lot of different screens, modes, and variety to keep gamers interested. Destineer also made sure a multiplayer mode was included, and the WMG loves to see that in games - especially puzzle ones. Cooperative, and competitive are available for two players. It will take most players a few weeks to get through the entire story mode.

The controls in Cate West The Vanishing Files are all about the Wii Remote. Moving around the screen with the magnifying glass has never been easier. The hints help the player, and random multiple guesses in a row are punished with time loss. That ultimately affects the score, which some will not care about. Patient exploration is encouraged by Cate West The Vanishing Files. The WMG was intrigued by this title, and found it to be a worthwhile experience.

Cate West The Vanishing Files teaches concentration, attention to detail, analytical thought, and helping the police. Psychic powers are also taught by this Wii game. The WMG expects this to turn into a franchise with multiple games in the future. Some of the ideas tried in this game improve upon the genre.
