Bunnytown Hello Bunnies

Disney has one musical preschool show in the form of Bunnytown. The release of Bunnytown Hello Bunnies caught our eye, and I wanted to be the reviewer to learn the bunny dance. The first thing I noticed about Bunnytown Hello Bunnies is how energetic everything on this DVD is. Young children who have not yet learned to sit still will find the action is non stop on this DVD. As long as it retains their attention, then stay at home mommies can get a few things done around the house. As a grandmother I can catch my breath for a few minutes thanks to Bunnytown Hello Bunnies.

The visuals in Bunnytown Hello Bunnies are bright with all kinds of life. One of the episodes helps children learn their colors, and that is of course all visual. There are also visual lessons in doing the right thing, and learning simple counting (one to three). The little puppet bunnies are cute and friendly. The bad bunny does not seem too threatening, and does not get to keep stolen carrots. The human characters all dress appropriately, unless you have a problem with clowns (editor: one episode has clowns).

The range of music in Bunnytown Hello Bunnies is diverse. There are a lot of different happy songs, and great lessons on this DVD. I loved the tortoise and the hare lesson that one of the episodes contained. The amount of laughter on this disc brought joy to my heart. I found nothing offensive in any of the sounds on Bunnytown Hello Bunnies.

Bunnytown Hello Bunnies contains four episodes that last 96 minutes. Children we let watch this would watch an episode or two at a time, and then they were ready for something else. There are some neat little extras including the Bunny Dance, and of course sneak peak previews.

This DVD functions as I would expect it to, and the Fastplay feature works. I do question the little game included (It’s that time again game). Little ones did not have the patience, or dexterity to properly control it. Parents will need to assist their children with that game, otherwise those poor bunnies will never get fed. Bunnytown Hello Bunnies is a lot of fun for the target age range. Children that have reached school age were not so receptive.

Bunnytown Hello Bunnies teaches teamwork, simple numbers, sharing, following directions, doing the right thing, and a few more lessons I will let you discover for yourselves. I would like to see sequels to this DVD release, and hope this show continues.
