Bali Adventure

Bali Adventure is a puzzle game in the same vein as the Luxor series. There are plenty of video games on the PC that are like this, so Bali Adventure joins a crowded field. Family Friendly Gaming enjoys this field because it is generally family friendly. We have also been very generous (editor: historically) to smaller, more independent developers.

The visuals in Bali Adventure disappointed me in the details. I have played Luxor, and quite a few clones that had a lot of shine to the orbs that roll from the entrance to the exit. Bali Adventure needs an upgrade in this area in my opinion. I did not run into offensive images while I played Bali Adventure, so that is a plus. I am used to additional special effects in these kinds of games as well.

Bali Adventure has a few jamming tracks that caught my ear. What I said about the special effect images applies to the sounds as well. I am used to a lot more in these kinds of games. Maybe my expectations have gotten really high over the years though. I did like the music, and felt it fit the theme of this Personal Computer game.

Games like Bali Adventure have a fair amount of replay. There are twisting, winding levels that keep the players on their toes. I have played a fair amount of games that have this game play style, and many of the levels start to feel the same. I think most of that has to do with there only being so many things that can be done in this part of the puzzle genre.

I found the game play in Bali Adventure to be fun with one small exception. The things pushing the orbs move a little too quickly for me though. I also ran into problems with the right colors not coming up from the shooter device. I find games like Bali Adventure to be fun. Lining up the orb I am shooting with the moving train of orbs helps with the hand eye coordination.

I see a lot of promise in Bali Adventure for the Personal Computer (PC). With a few small tweaks some sequels could bring this franchise into the upper echelon of the genre. There are not a lot of lessons in Bali Adventure, with the exception of concentration, and hand eye coordination.
