Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel

I had the honor of playing Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel on the Nintendo DS. The Chipettes join the boys to have some friendly competition in a world tour that reaches various locations. One of the stand out aspects of Chipmunks the Squeakquel is how nice they are to one another. The boys and girls are also very encouraging to one another, and enjoy the work of the others. I have not seen the movie, but I do not think the game follows the storyline of the movie. Which is okay, because Chipmunks the Squeakquel is a fun little music game. The Chipmunks are such a fun franchise to interact with.

There are a lot of things that were done well with Chipmunks the Squeakquel. The visuals look a lot like the characters from this franchise. The dancing is generally safe. Most players will be watching the arrows instead though. There are a lot of colors, and special effects that fit the theme of a concert. The characters all dress appropriately throughout the entire game.

Chipmunks the Squeakquel has ten various rock songs that most adults will know. Some examples are Funkytown, and Girls Just Want To Have Fun. I have not heard some of these songs in years. I found the music to be pretty tame. The positive encouragement in Chipmunks the Squeakquel goes a long way in my book. I did not find any offensive language or words in this Nintendo DS video game.

The one area I feel is lacking is the replay value. Chipmunks the Squeakquel has a multiplayer mode where four players can have fun in a party mode. I was able to defeat the normal story mode in under an hour. There is also an expert mode where things get a lot more difficult. Still I was hoping for a longer normal story mode personally. Fans of the Chipmunks will absolutely love this DS game.

The controls are very intuitive in Chipmunks the Squeakquel. The beginning tutorial mode is cool for newcomers, and can be skipped by experts. Touch screen controls are used heavily in this game. Touring the world and gaining fans is the main storyline part of Chipmunks the Squeakquel. Actually that is about as deep as the story gets, which is actually fine with me. I had fun playing Chipmunks the Squeakquel.

Concentration, following commands, and hand eye coordination are the main lessons in Chipmunks the Squeakquel. I believe kids will enjoy this game. So if you have kids, then accept my recommendation for Chipmunks the Squeakquel. I would like to see sequels to the game play in this game.
