Alvin and the Chipmunks Go To the Movies Star Wreck

Alvin and the Chipmunks Go To the Movies Star Wreck contains three episodes of Alvin and the Chipmunks cartoon. The three episodes are Star Wreck, Chip Tracy, and Elementary My Dear Simon. They are spoofs of the well known movies with the Chipmunk characters staring. This DVD has 66 minutes of play time. The music is fantastic, making me wonder why entire seasons of the show are not being released. There are other Alvin and the Chipmunks Go To the Movies DVDs which spoof other movie franchises.

If you are familar with this cartoon then you know what kinds of animation to expect from Alvin and the Chipmunks Go To the Movies Star Wreck. The characters animate well, and they have a real friendly feel to their graphics. Sherlock Holmes has a bubble pipe, and Root Beer is the bad substance in Chip Tracy. There are characters in peril, but that is as bad as it gets. I like this era of animation, and how family friendly this show is.

Alvin and the Chipmunks Go To the Movies Star Wreck has fantastic music. I really get into the sound of this show.  The theme song is still dancing around my skull, and I noticed children get into the songs as well. The only complaint I have is there is not enough.

The only extras included on this DVD is a preview. The measly three episodes can be watched in just over an hour, and can be rewatched. For the price of admission there is more content on other DVD packages. Teen Titans, Justice League, Pokemon and other cartoons can be found for the same price, but with a lot more minutes of entertainment.

The menu screens display an intelligent design, and function properly. The three stories are about helping people, stopping crime, and stopping a robber. Hardcore Trekkies may take offense to the Shatner impersonation. I just found it to drag on a bit too much.

Alvin and the Chipmunks Go To the Movies Star Wreck is a lot of good clean fun in my opinion. I would love to see more from this franchise, especially if some larger compilations are released. Maybe that will happen on Blu-ray. All ages can and do enjoy this cartoon.
