Afro Samurai Afro Samurai

Afro Samurai has the distinct honor of being one of the lowest scoring video games that Family Friendly Gaming has reviewed. The African American samurai has a possessed headband that enjoys a murderous killing spree. Done with swords of course. The WMG may be the only video game reviewer to say this, but this Playstation 3 (PS3) and Xbox 360 has a racist undertone at the very least. Afro Samurai is essentially the gangsta rap of video games. The extended list of descriptors from the ESRB, and the 'M' rating should scare away most families. If not, then this review will be that final nail in the coffin.

The graphics in Afro Samurai are horrible. Dark, depressing, violent, bloody, disgusting, and repugnant. Body parts of cut off, and most enemies are left in a bloody mess of two major body masses. As if that was not enough there is nudity, and women treated as sexual objects. The artistic style also leaves a lot to be desired in the WMG's opinion.

Afro Samurai has the worst language the WMG has seen in any video game. The worst kind of profanity comes spewing out at such a high frequency that it gave this reviewer a head ache, and editors could not stand more than ten minutes at a time. Women are also treated poorly, and like sexual objects for men. Samuel Jackson lends his vocals, but it only draws this game further into the gutter.

The WMG can see no reason to ever play Afro Samurai, let alone replay it. Once we get into the gameplay issues you will understand more. Extra content only makes this game look worse. Only one player can play Afro Samurai at a time.

The gameplay is monotonous murders. Slice and dice everyone in your path. This gets boring after the first murder. Continuous repetition of this gameplay almost put the WMG to sleep. This reviewer found no fun in Afro Samurai at all.

Afro Samurai is a classic example of what the video game industry needs to leave behind. This game has everything that we have tried to progress away from as an industry. Murder, drugs, smoking, enticement to lust are all glorified in Afro Samurai. No sequels are needed to this PS3/Xbox 360 video game ever.
