Wii Music

Family Friendly Gaming has commended Nintendo for their innovations, and family friendly fun video games. Wii Music considers that tradition quite nicely. I have to admit I was skeptical after seeing this game at E3 in the year of our Lord 2008. I have to apologize to Nintendo because I was a doubting Thomas in regards to Wii Music. Seeing is certainly believing, and so is hearing (in the case of Wii Music). This Wii game is fun for the entire family.

Wii Music has a lot of class, and character to it in the graphical department. The Miis fit perfectly into this game, and animate well. I found some fascinating animations in the Wii Music Videos - like flowers changing colors for example. The tasteful music videos the player can make add some cool depth to Wii Music. I am also extremely pleased to report I did not find any offensive images while playing this Wii home console video game.

How good or bad any music game relies on the musical selection. Too many music games fail because of bad lyrical content. Wii Music starts with a fun classic that anyone with any intelligence can enjoy - Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Nintendo exhibited some major intelligence by avoiding lyrics altogether. Jamming with friends, family, and computer characters on different musical instruments is more than enough fun. My hat goes off to Nintendo for making a fun musical game that anyone can play without becoming offended. Hopefully other developers can follow their example.

I love games that can be played for a few minutes, and then put down. I also enjoy gaming with friends and family members. Wii Music hits high notes with both of those. Nintendo has been the king of unlockable content for quite some years now, and Wii Music is no exception. The more the player does in the game, the more there is to do. It will take most gamers months to unlock all of the content in this Wii game.

Wii Music has good controls that sort of simulate the playing of the related musical instruments. I found an intelligent design to the way this Wii game controls. The question most people ask is: how much fun is Wii Music? I found it to be a lot of fun. Nintendo kept it simple enough for anyone to come to the table, and left enough variances for the extreme gamers who spend too many hours with any game they own.

As more games are released, and reviewed for the Wii the TOP TEN Listing for that system is getting a lot more competitive. Only truly special games can make it into the TOP TEN. Wii Music makes it into that esteemed crowd. I found myself tapping to the music, and diligently working during the different jamming sessions. The fun mini games included also teach some interesting skills. I would love to see sequels to Wii Music because this game brings families together.
