Trioncube

Namco Bandai is a video game developer that Family Friendly Gaming keeps our eyes on. The reason is they have released some neat little video games for the family. Trioncube is one such quirky little puzzle game. The storyline is fascinating to say the least (this boy is trying to save a princess in space), and the puzzle action is great. Players populate a three by three grid and then add onto it for bigger combos. The puzzle action is simple, but very fun.

The visuals in Trioncube are very bright and colorful. The artistic style is unique. The little boy is trying to save a kidnapped princess who was flown to the planet Pluto. The graphical representations to not have a lot of animations, but the storyline is expressed visually quite well. The game play levels have a lot of action going on - on both of the screens of the Nintendo DS. The WMG did not find any offensive images while playing this game.

The audio department of Trioncube on the Nintendo DS is very pleasant. The catchy little tunes stayed with the WMG for a decent time frame after powering the game off. Different sounds can also be purchased in the game with coins won from beating specific levels. The WMG did not hear any offensive sounds while playing this game.

The action of this game is easy enough that all game playing members of the family can play it. Trioncube has a nice amount of features, and game play modes to keep the hardcore gamer busy as well. The only drawback could be addiction, but levels are beaten so quickly that the WMG only slightly registers a potential problem in that regard. The WMG feels this game is worth your extremely hard earned dollars.

The best way to describe the game play of Trioncube would be an easier Tetris. Puzzle games all aspire towards that Tetris recognizability, and Bandai Namco has achieved that quite nicely. All of the controls work amazingly well. There is some very intelligent design to the blocks that drop, and a player can adjust their order to add some nice strategy.

Bandai Namco has proven that a quirky little video game can be released without including offensive material. Family Friendly Gaming loves to cover video games like Trioncube. There needs to be some sequels to this game, especially if the length of the levels are increased. The WMG has recommended this game to his pastor, and finds it completely safe for your entire loving family.
