Trauma Center Under the Knife 2

The WMG was totally psyched about getting to review Trauma Center Under the Knife 2. Getting to play a doctor trying to save people from wounds in a war torn African country is an excellent idea. So some manner of anti-war preaching was expected. What was not expected was the doctor fighting Sin, and Guilt. They are acronyms for diseases but anyone with any intelligence draws a connection between real world sin, and guilt and the mythical diseases. It is highly important to mention certain patients can not be cured unless a pentagram is drawn. This occultic symbol gives the player the power to heal almost gone patients at certain junctures. These patients can not be cured any other way, and players who are bothered by this will have to stop playing the game early on.

There are a lot of interesting procedures that need to be done, and all of them are of utmost extreme. A poacher who gets bit by an alligator and needs a leg reconstructed. There is plenty of blood, bones, and bandages in Trauma Center Under the Knife 2. If you are squeamish then you should avoid this Nintendo DS title. Many real doctors go through this on a daily basis, and they are mentally conditioned for it.

The WMG was a little shocked at some of the bad language in this Nintendo DS game. Trauma Center Under the Knife 2 is not a game for children under any circumstances. With that brought up there is also a lot of wonderful text about helping people, staying the course, and doing the right thing. In fact the WMG loved the episode where one doctor encourages another to stay a doctor.

Trauma Center Under the Knife 2 does not have a lot of extras that the WMG unearthed. There are a fair amount of levels, and they get progressively more difficult. The difficulty is a bit of a deterrent for those not used to this kind of a video game.

Trauma Center Under the Knife 2 gives a lot of verbal directions, and many times it is written as well. This helps the player learn the extremely difficult surgery procedures. The touch screen is utilized in incisions, giving injections, ultrasounds, and a plethora of other procedures. Trauma Center Under the Knife 2 is an interesting experience that the WMG did not find fun.

This franchise has a load of potential. With a few tweaks this could be used to help train real world doctors in important procedures. Operating on people has never been a desire of this reviewer, but there is a definite audience for Trauma Center Under the Knife 2. The pentagram is the biggest concern for Family Friendly Gaming. There are plenty of non-occultic symbols that could have been used instead.
