The Princess Bride Game

Gamers now have the privilege of playing a Personal Computer (PC) video game based on The Princess Bride movie. The Princess Bride Game is a video game that has been a long time coming. Fans of the movie have clamored for a video game for years. Okay that may be a bit of an exaggeration, maybe I am the only one who wanted to play a video game where the story revolved around true love. No I am not counting the Square Enix lame attempts at love stories in a few Final Fantasy video games. The voices of the original cast is a nice touch that fits this CD that works on both the PC and MAC. The quirky humor also translates into the video game quite nicely as well.

The Princess Bride Game has a bright, upbeat, and appealing graphical look to it. The cartoon images of the various characters are amazing. I must admit that I find the graphics in this Personal Computer (editor: and Macintosh) video game better than the real life images from the movie. The look is softer, crisper, and much cleaner. There s some cartoon violence images as this game does include sword fights and the like. If you are familiar with the PG rated movie, then you know what to expect in this video game. I personally enjoyed the cut scenes that tell the story.

The Princess Bride Game has excellent music. I really love the music from the movie, and the sounds in this game fit that theme perfectly. The story of true love is a great one, as the positive sounds that encourage traditional marriage. With all of that said The Princess Bride Game is not a perfect video game, nor was the movie. One of the characters is out for revenge, and his emphasis is about how he is going to kill someone who murdered his father. His obsession is one of the drawbacks of the movie, and this video game. I really wish forgiveness was taught instead.

Once you read the next paragraph you can better determine how much replay value The Princess Bride Game will have for you. I found the different mini games to be a lot of fun. There is enough material to keep most gamers busy for weeks. If you enjoyed the movie, then The Princess Bride Game is a must purchase.

The only real drawback I can see to The Princess Bride Game is the game play. The game consists of essentially five different mini games. They have variety to them though, and the team work aspect of the Fire Swamp levels makes points with me. Each of the mini games is a lot of fun, especially for the younger audiences.

There are some good lessons in The Princess Bride Game. I appreciate the true love storyline, and the casual style of game put together. The revenge theme of one of the characters is present as well. I would love to see sequels to The Princess Bride Game. Maybe this is the kind of a game that would work well on the Nintendo Wii.
