Rune Factory 2 A Fantasy Harvest Moon

Rune Factory 2 A Fantasy Harvest Moon is part role playing game, and part farming game. So at least half of this Nintendo DS game fits the RPG Master. Raising a family, and passing things along through the generations is one of the coolest factors in this game.  The beginning of Rune Factory 2 A Fantasy Harvest Moon can be a challenge since things like seeds are very expensive. Smart players will do the quests on the message board first. This trains the player on where the different villagers are, and at what times their shops open. It also teaches where to go to find the different monster filled areas.

Rune Factory 2 A Fantasy Harvest Moon has a few problems in the visuals. There are some characters in this game who dress in a very provocative manner. This has no place in an 'E' for Everyone rated video game. There is violence as the monsters are hacked and slashed. On the plus side the details, especially the backgrounds are fantastic. The artistic level is impressive.

There is some shocking dialog in this DS game. One character asks a priest/pastor some questions about God, then the priest does not give the loving and truthful answer that any priest/pastor with any Biblical education would give. This same character is disrespectful to authority and his own father. There is a fortune teller character who is needed at times in Rune Factory 2 A Fantasy Harvest Moon. The music is spectacular, and the song at the start of this game is of high quality, even though it is in a foreign language.

Rune Factory 2 A Fantasy Harvest Moon includes a lot of different items, plants, characters, areas, quests, and monsters. There is plenty of replay value to this game, and it allows more than one player through wireless game play. The daily clock that runs is great, but at times the characters stamina (called Rune points) would be gone and have to go to bed before noon.

The controls in Rune Factory 2 A Fantasy Harvest Moon are either touch screen, or normal D-pad controls. One of the aspects of this game that bothers the RPG Master is the befriending, and using monsters. Monsters can be used to help the player in the farming, and that just feels off. There is an addictive quality to Rune Factory 2 A Fantasy Harvest Moon that is fun, but also can cause certain people problems.

Rune Factory 2 A Fantasy Harvest Moon has some nice steps in the right direction concerning the moral and ethical issues. There is still progress to be made, and improvements that are needed. Rune Factory 2 A Fantasy Harvest Moon contains a nice mix of role playing, and farming. A few tweaks are needed as the farming feels tacked on. A pastor with real Biblical answers is needed really badly as well.
