Redneck Jamboree

Redneck Jamboree is going to immediately turn off a lot of people based on its name. I really hope the idea behind the game was humor, and not racism. I let some rednecks I know play this game, and they were not impressed. They did not find any humor in this game. I did a little history study and their reaction was similar to how a lot of black people felt about how they were portrayed in the entertainment industry last century. Progressives have only shifted who is the victim of racism. Some of the game included in this compilation is lawn mower racing, opening bottles until your teeth fall out, and toilet seat tossing. Twelve events are included in this Nintendo Wii home console video game.

The graphics are simple, and pretty dull in a lot of areas. Most of the characters look similar, with just a few color swaps. The cartoonish look of the women takes away the enticement to lust issue that something like daisy dukes would normally warrant. The characters are purposely made to look un-intelligent. In other words the essence is a mockery of this group of people. Family Friendly Gaming does not approve of this kind of treatment of a group of people.

Between each of the "events" there is some kind of redneck "fact." This attempt at humor is going to be offensive to a lot of people. My research could not verify any of this information, in fact my research proved the opposite. The music in Redneck Jamboree fits the theme of this game, and it actually got on my last good nerve. It sounded like a lot of banjo being played poorly to me. The rednecks I let play this game said it sounded nothing like their environments.

If you can get past all of the characterizations in this game, there is some just above average replay value. Redneck Jamboree has some unlockable mini games after the player has earned enough bottle tops. Some of the unlockable content - the different characters mainly being color swaps. Redneck Jamboree is a bargain priced title, but I still have problems with it.

Redneck Jamboree has a few control issues. I ran into a couple of problems with a few of the mini games. I took the time to read the instructions before playing the game, and most of the time everything went great.  Those few mini games mentioned gave me problems that wound up irritating, frustrating, and annoying me. The shooting game is entertaining because of how much stuff there is to shoot.

The storyline behind Redneck Jamboree is winning this contest to have the big trailer and bragging rights for an entire year. This is not very motivating to me as a gamer, or a human being. I was disappointed with the entire attempts to make fun of those that live in harmony with nature, and are not enslaved to technology. No sequels please.
