Some reviewers knock the bargain priced video games. They expect a
whole lot from a game selling for less than half of "high profile" video
game releases. Family Friendly Gaming follows the Biblical of example of
the parable of the talents. It would be like expecting a high school
football team to defeat a pro team. So that has never made sense to us
here at Family Friendly Gaming. Puzzler Collection contains over two
thousand puzzles. Crossword, Sudoku, Wordsearch, and Fitword are the
puzzle games included in Nintendo Wii video game.
The graphics in Puzzler Collection are a major letdown. There are not a
lot of colors, and the entire look is pretty bland. Even worse the
Sudoku game is difficult to tell the different numbers thanks to the
font, and color used. None of the other games have this problem though.
It is important to mention that I did not find any offensive images
while playing Puzzler Collection for the Wii.
Puzzler Collection is also lacking in the sounds department. There are
special effect sounds in the game, and also some relaxing music. To be
brutally honest I was hoping for some more musical content. There are
some alcohol and tobacco references in some of the games. Crosswords in
newspapers also have this kind of content, but it is important to bring
up so there is no surprises when you decide to purchase this game.
Puzzle video games have some of the best replay value. Puzzler
Collection is no exception. There are enough puzzles, and different
kinds to keep most gamers busy for weeks. There is not a lot of
unlockables, however there are difficulty levels to keep the most
hardcore gamer engaged for quite some time. I really appreciated the
hints included which sped up some of the puzzles for me personally.
Puzzler Collection has average controls. I ran into an occasional issue
with the controls while playing Puzzler Collection on the Wii. They were
few and far between though. The control scheme for some of the games
could have been better, but I have also seen worse. Like I said in the
first sentence of this paragraph, the controls are average. I had fun
playing this game. If you are into games that make you think, I believe
you will as well.
Puzzler Collection is a wonderful game that teaches players to think
about what they are doing, and to concentrate. Attention to detail is an
important skill that gamers can work on with Puzzler Collection for the
Wii. I would love to see sequels to this franchise, especially if they
include additional puzzle games. Puzzler Collection is one of those
games that fits the target audience quite well.
