Naruto Path of the Ninja 2

Naruto Path of the Ninja 2 is an interesting game on the Nintendo DS. Unlike a lot of Naruto video games this one is a role playing game (editor: unlike the fighting games), and that alone will raise a lot of eyebrows. The ease of leveling up in this DS video game makes it feel like it is going quickly. The problem is the boss characters are a lot more difficult. Players get to use thirty playable different characters on their team. Naruto has been a popular franchise on Cartoon Network, but it has also had some controversy surround it as well.

Naruto Path of the Ninja 2 for the DS has some of the smallest graphics the WMG has seen on the Nintendo DS. In fact at first the WMG thought these graphics were of a Gameboy Advance video game, and not a Nintendo DS. The violence is watching a character strike the enemy character after the command has been given. There is also some strange spiritual images that support eastern religions. The sexually suggestive images were pretty shocking in a Nintendo DS video game. The WMG would expect such images on the Xbox 360 (which is known to be more anti-family, than family friendly).

Naruto Path of the Ninja 2 has a lot of sound bytes from the various characters from the Cartoon Network television show. There are some comments, and text in this game that the WMG finds inappropriate. Some of the humor in this DS game is crude just like the ESRB denoted. The repetitive nature of many of the sound bytes does get irritating.

Naruto Path of the Ninja 2 is a little too short for the WMG. There are plenty of treasure chests containing items all over in this Nintendo DS video game. The problem is very few of those items are ever needed. Something that is surprising is the multiplayer mode that Naruto Path of the Ninja 2 includes.

Tomy included the kind of controls the WMG enjoys the most. That is dual controls of the normal older style (D-pad, and buttons), and the newer styles (touch screen). Naruto Path of the Ninja 2 plays okay for a role playing game. To the WMG this is DS game is lower than average for a role playing game, but a better kind of Naruto video game than the fighting ones (at least in style).

The most shocking aspect of this video game is the spiritual aspects found in it. At one point the player possesses a dog to do its bidding. Naruto Path of the Ninja 2 could be a great game if some of the content is cleaned up. Any sequel would need that clean up. Helping others is one lesson in this game, as well as spiritual lessons in eastern religious beliefs.
