Myth Makers Orbs of Doom

Myth Makers Orbs of Doom is one of the most exciting Bold Games releases to date (at least to me). This Wii game is a Kororinpa Marble Mania clone. Which is a good thing because Kororinpa Marble Mania is one of the best video games on the Nintendo Wii. Bold Games included mythical characters like a young Saint Nick, a witch, pumpkin head, and many more. Myth Makers Orbs of Doom does not time the player, but count how many tries it takes to complete the level. Over forty levels are included in a variety of worlds that start easy, but get progressively more difficult.

The graphics in Myth Makers Orbs of Doom are very bright and colorful. I like the different graphical style, and the mythical characters rolling around in balls is almost as good as monkeys (editor: ala Super Monkey Ball video games). The details are okay, and honestly could use an upgrade. For twenty US Dollars it is a bargain though.

I found myself really enjoying the music in Myth Makers Orbs of Doom for the Wii. The music really fits into the theme of this game. The different characters have different sound effects when they win, run into a wall, etc. I did not hear any offensive sounds while playing Myth Makers Orbs of Doom.

Bold Games included enough levels at the right learning curve to keep most gamers busy for a few weeks. Four players can play Myth Makers Orbs of Doom, and this is one video game that I feel is worth your hard earned dollars.

Myth Makers Orbs of Doom has the exact same problem that Super Monkey Ball has in terms of controls. Trying to turn around can be difficult, and small platforms have to be lined up exactly. The one area of improvement that Myth Makers Orbs of Doom includes is going up slopes. Some slopes can be climbed without a running start, or the snaking that Monkey Ball requires. I appreciated this, and it made Myth Makers Orbs of Doom fun to play.

Myth Makers Orbs of Doom is a great start for Bold Games in this genre. Some of the unique ideas like the Domino's level really make this Wii video game shine. I would love to see some sequels to this safe for the entire family video game. It was my joy and pleasure to review this Wii video game.
