I Spy Fun House

There are a lot of worthless video games on the market that get all kinds of media attention. Then there are games like I Spy Fun House that are worthy of our attention. Not everything is as it seems in each of the pictures found within the I Spy Fun House. Players must do a mental shift in order to figure out where some of them are. Scholastic (editor: well known for their excellent children books) also made sure there are some fun little mini games included.

There is a major circus feel to the graphics found within I Spy Fun House. There are a variety of images found within, and plenty of hidden images within those. The details found in the pictures is fantastic - especially when one considers this is a Nintendo DS video game. There are plenty of wholesome images found within I Spy Fun House. I searched systematically and did not find any offensive images inside this Nintendo DS cartridge anywhere. The graphics are safe for children, and even adults mature enough to enjoy good, clean and wholesome fun.

The sounds found within I Spy Fun House really fit the theme of this Nintendo DS video game quite well. All of the special effects and movies remind me of the circus. The music also has a light hearted feel to them that bring a smile to my face and remind me of being a kid playing in the fun house.

There can be some replay value in I Spy Fun House if you keep rotating the images. The only problem I have with this game is there are not enough images, and they do not change. What I needed to find changes, but after playing the same image multiple times, the challenge was gone. I still think this is the kind of game that the video game industry needs.

I Spy Fun House is the type of video game the Nintendo DS was made for. The game play is excellent with the player searching all over the images trying to find the requested items. Touching the screen in the right spot makes the item animated and it turns red on the listing. The only drawback is lazy people can press all over the screen until they hit something. An improvement would be to only allow so many guesses per image. The level of intelligent design for I Spy Fun House is high.

I really enjoyed playing I Spy Fun House on the Nintendo DS. It is nice to see such a well respected, and family friendly company like Scholastic enter the video game arena. Parents need to support games like this one to continue to improve the tarnished image of the video game industry. I would love to see some sequels, especially if more images are added. I will be recommending this Nintendo DS video game to my pastor.
