Drawn to Life Spongebob Squarepants Edition

Drawn to Life was one of the more innovative Nintendo DS titles that we have seen here at Family Friendly Gaming. The wonderful lessons, along with the style of game made me want a sequel. THQ granted that request, with an interesting twist - SpongeBob. The pairing seemed really strange at first. All of the drawing items, characters, etc. is back in this sequel as well.

Drawn to Life Spongebob Squarepants Edition is themed from the Spongebob franchise. Like the previous Drawn to Life a lot of the graphics depend upon the artistic talent of the player. I have little to none in terms of drawing talent so my items do not look the greatest. Others however can make wonderful looking images. There is some cartoon violence as players jump on the heads, or punch enemies to make them depart from the screen.

Drawn to Life Spongebob Squarepants Edition has cool sounds that fit the theme of this game. I found the music to be enjoyable in this Nintendo DS video game. The storyline is vastly different this time around as an evil Spongebob gets ahold of the magical pencil, creates a ‘DoodleBob.’ The creator theme is missing, which is a loss in my book.

Drawn to Life Spongebob Squarepants Edition has a lot of replay value to it as long as you want to find all the different secrets. I also like the drawing boards where items can be drawn, and re-drawn. Drawn to Life is a great franchise where players can customize a lot of the game to their personal liking. If you liked the original, then you should invest in Drawn to Life Spongebob Squarepants Edition.

The game play in Drawn to Life Spongebob Squarepants Edition is similar to the original. There are plenty of simple puzzles that shake up the experience of this Nintendo DS video game. I had a lot of fun playing this game, and tested Drawn to Life Spongebob Squarepants Edition out on children who also had fun.

I am very pleased to see a sequel like Drawn to Life Spongebob Squarepants Edition. It is not as awesome as the original, but many times sequels to truly innovative titles have much higher expectations than the originals. The SpongeBob theme was an okay one to try and mix with the Drawn to Life franchise. I can think of a lot of other franchises that would have been better (in my humble opinion) - like VeggieTales. I did not find anything overtly offensive in this Nintendo DS video game. I also think fans of Spongebob will like this video game.
