Double D Dodgeball
SCORE: 75
Double D Dodgeball is one of those fun little Xbox 360 video games that appear on the downloads for a very reasonable price. Up to four players can play locally, and there is also online for those who have purchased a Xbox Live account from Microsoft. The core of Double D Dodgeball is the well known physical educational game. Players are on a team, must rush the middle to get a ball, and commence eliminating the other team.
Eliminations are completed by hitting a member of the other team with a ball. If you are on the receiving end, there is a catch option. I really like the bright colors found in Double D Dodgeball (bear in mind that is a personal favorite of mine). The characters do not look like people (more like little space ships), so the violence issue is not much of a factor. I enjoyed the different stadiums, and feel this game would work great on the Playstation Portable.
The sounds are upbeat, and energetic. The special effect sounds threw me at first, but once I quickly had a handle of what was going down - they fit the theme nicely. Games can be played quickly, and yet there is an addictive quality to Double D Dodgeball. With so many different players, and potential for additional downloadable content Double D Dodgeball is a game that can last for a very long time. Most of the game play works great, and I had a lot of fun playing Double D Dodgeball.
I did notice the sideways
rotation worked in the opposite direction I was expecting it to. Double
D Dodgeball is a video game that is safe for the entire family. The
violence is not even to the cartoon levels of Looney Tunes. Xbox 360
owners should check it out.
