Cars Mater National

Since the Playstation 2 has sold over 120 million units, it is a real possibility for Cars Mater-National Championship (PS2 version) to do really well in sales. There are plenty of families in that 120 million (editor: world wide) figure. The wonderful, enlightening, fresh, safe, and fun storyline of Radiator Springs continues in this racing video game. Like the previous Cars game THQ lets the players drive all around three locations. It never gets old to visit these locations from the town, and to see how they have been slightly altered by the presence of Lightning McQueen. He really saves that area, and it uplifts me to see it.

The graphics in Cars Mater-National Championship are pretty good. Sure they are not quite to the level of the Playstation 3, but PS2 owners won’t mind at all. A lot of colors are used, and the different cars are a pleasure to see animated in this game. The inclusion of Monster Trucks Inc. is a real treat for me. No offensive images in this one.

The voice acting is awesome. My kids and I still watch the Cars movie, and they would sit and watch the different cut scenes in the story mode - loving every minute of it. The music is also excellent, and non-offensive. Mater’s humor really adds a lot to Cars Mater-National Championship.

Rainbow Studios has given THQ a masterpiece in terms of the replay value. Cars Mater-National Championship has so much to do, see, unlock, find, play, etc. that it is almost mind boggling. How they could cram that much material into this DVD disc is beyond my comprehension. One of two players can play Cars Mater-National Championship. Games like this one are exactly what the video game industry needs, so yes it is worth your money.

The controls are spectacular, especially the rumble feature. The layout of the tracks shows some amazing intelligent design. There are few video games that I can watch others play, but I can watch others play Cars Mater-National Championship. Not only is that fun, but playing it myself is a total blast.

I have played or seen a lot of different versions of Disney Pixar Cars related video games. Cars Mater-National Championship is one of those games that Family Friendly Gaming asked THQ to make. I am very glad that they listened to us. This is exactly what a sequel should be. Do I want more games in this franchise? Yes of course I do. All of the pastors reading this review should know I recommend this game to them. There are few safer games on the market today.
