Capcom Classic Collection Volume 2

There is so much fun to be had from playing video game compilations. I like to point and laugh at what people thought was a good idea way back in the day. You know when old people were young, and thought they were playing a cool video game. Don’t spit your dentures out in anger, because I am only joking. If you are really angry though please email the editor and chew him out.

Capcom has released a lot of shooting and Final Fight fighting video games. Don’t believe me, then play Capcom Classics Collection Volume 2.

Not one game in this compilation has stood the test of time graphically. I can not think of one other Playstation 2 video game that is this sub-standard in the graphics department. There are plenty of women dressed in a way to enslave men into lusting after them. An amazing amount of violence, blood, gore, and death found within Capcom Classics Collection Volume 2. Super Street Fighter II Turbo is the best looking game, and that is not saying a lot. Playing the original Street Fighter does show how far the franchise came though.

Games like Three Wonders had some nice sounds to it, but the majority of these games in this package are a lot of hitting, or shooting. Capcom should have called this game Capcom Classic Fighting and Shooting because that would have been more accurate.

Arcade quality video games have a major problem when released on the home console. We are not popping in quarters so we can play the game until we have beaten it. Which is cool to see all the game, but then no need to replay it. Capcom included some information on games, along with a tutorial on Super Street Fighter II Turbo. This game is in the bargain bin, but not worth the money (editor: unless you want to see how far video games have come).

Most of the games control around average on the PS2 controller, with the exception of the Street Fighter games. The lag involved, and layout make me yearn for the SNES, and Genesis controllers where playing them was a lot easier. There is some intelligent design to some of the levels.

Capcom must be ashamed of most of these games because they did not include a full list on the outside of the package. They have reason to be ashamed because this is a really bad compilation. There are a couple of puzzle games that are family friendly, but that is it.
