Cake Mania In the Mix

The well known Cake Mania series has made it to the Wii in the form of Cake Mania In the Mix. Jill is back and this time she gets to choose the path she will take, and who she will help out. On one side she has Jack (her old flame), and on the other side Risha (her college friend). You get to help decide if she pursues love, or fame.

Most of the visuals in Cake Mania In the Mix are safe for the entire family. The main female characters low cut blouse is noticeable, and something my wife commented on. There are plenty of cake shapes included in this Wii game, even the Christian fish symbol. There are various strange looking customers that order up cakes. Cake Mania In the Mix includes a lot of bright colors that are sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Cake Mania In the Mix has themed music that fits this Wii game quite well. The ding of the oven made me feel like I was in a real kitchen. The storyline of helping others, and having a choice on which path to take resonated with me as well. I did not find any offensive language in this Wii game the time I was playing it.

Cake Mania In the Mix has a lot of replay value to it. At first this game starts out easy enough, but later in the game I felt like I was managing chaos. Adding ovens, icing trays, and more kept me on my toes. Cake Mania In the Mix includes cooperative play for more than one player, and the ability to send cake creation greeting cards to friends and family across WiiConnect24.

The simple controls of this Wii games are one of the things that make it a lot of fun to play. Point at something and press 'A' to do one thing, and press 'B' to do another. When 'A' is selected then multiple choices come up (like what kind of a cake is wanted). This layout works great for Cake Mania In the Mix. The only complaint I have is making one mistake can mean the quota is not reached. I wish this game was a little more forgiving.

Cake Mania In the Mix teaches multi-tasking, managing resources, and helping others. These are excellent lessons that many people can use in real life. Service is also one of the lessons, since the customers want to be served. I suppose I should say fast service since the customers are usually impatient. I enjoy this franchise, and would like to see more Cake Mania video games.
