I have heard that Hollywood is a Gomorrah unto itself. So I had myself braced for the absolute worst when I turned on Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz. To my surprise I was able to play quite a few games without being exposed to the anti-family arrogances of Hollywood. Oh they are definitely present, thankfully they are toned down. The little USB Buzzers are included to enhance the feel of a game show. Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz plays a lot like a game show with a host, assistant and the player(s).

Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz has a variety of different characters that can be played. Many of the women characters are dressed in a way to entice men to lust. It would seem to me that many of these characters are done in an attempt to be humorous. There can be some violence found at the Looney Tunes level. The details of many of the characters is okay, but screen shots from movies are good quality.

The issues with language are one of the biggest problems found inside Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz. The humor is either your flavor, or you will find it offensive. Thankfully the humor is not being used all the time. Drugs, sex, and movies are also represented in this PS2 video game. I was honestly expecting a lot worse. This game certainly earns the ‘T’ rating with so much adult content.

There are 5000 questions found within Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz. That equates to a lot of replay value, and plenty of movie related trivia to be tested on. This Playstation 2 video games gives the right answer so the player can learn how to successfully answer for the next time.

The USB Buzzer’s are a pretty neat little control scheme. I found myself looking at the controller to make sure I would hit the appropriate button. Part of my problem was hitting the wrong button since they are so close to one another (editor: the colored buttons). I do not like the point stealing this game allows. Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz is more fun for more for a group to play than to go solo.

For the first time in my memory the ESRB has done a good job with a video game rating. Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz earns every single warning on the box. The game show aspect of this PS2 game works nicely, and I would like to see some sequels. The sex, drugs, and bad language is not needed in a sequels. Maybe a Bible based Buzz! game would be a good idea for the 80% of Americans that self ID as Christian.
