Petz Horsez 2

There is a warning message at the start of Horsez 2 to let the player know the lessons in this game do not take the place of proper care of a horse. It is a shame that we live in such a sue happy society that Ubisoft has to put that in this video game. Players take the role of a teenage girl helping out her uncle on the ranch. An evil businessman plans on taking the ranch after the teenager stops his henchmen from capturing a pregnant wild horse. So it is up to you to win enough money in horse competitions to save the ranch. Horsez 2 has an intriguing country storyline that I am very familiar with. Those banker types are heartless, ruthless, and worse of all greedy.

The Playstation 2 is showing its age as far as graphics go. Horsez 2 is passable on the PS2, but has to look better on the newer consoles. One of the female characters dressed inappropriately in such a way that brought some commentary from my wife. I did not notice it, but this game is geared more towards women so I trust her wisdom in that area. The horses look magnificent, and remind me of the farm.

I have ridden quite a bit in my life, and the audio of a horse galloping is realistic in Horsez 2. It made me yearn for those days riding a horse when I was younger. There is some voice acting which is a little above average. The music is wonderful, but I did not care for the menu sounds. I did not hear any offensive language while playing Horsez 2.

The length of the storyline is long, and the breeding aspect can bring countless hours of pleasure to players. The only drawback is how repetitive taking care of horses becomes. If you are a horse lover then seriously prayerfully consider Horsez 2.

The controls of the game, especially riding work nicely for Horsez 2. The layout of the controls work great. Some of the mini games that involve horse care feel like they would work better on a system like the Nintendo Wii. I had fun playing Horsez 2, but it does need a little more diversity in certain aspects of the game.

Ubisoft has shown great interest in bringing the video game community some unique, fun, and clean video game experiences. Horsez 2 adds to their stable (sorry for the pun) of family friendly titles. I would love to see a sequel to Horsez 2, especially if Ubisoft were to include some more variety to the care of the horses. Pastors will love Horsez 2.
