Konami Kids Playground Alphabet Circus

Video games have become a prominent part in the lives of families all over the world. While some families refuse to let video games into their homes, I feel we should keep the good ones, and only refuse the bad video games. Konami Kids Playground Alphabet Circus is one of those good games. This Playstation 2 (PS2) video game is a wonderful tool to teach your children the alphabet. I do not understand why this game got an ‘E’ for Everyone rating instead of ‘EC’ for Early Childhood rating. Konami recommends this game for ages 2 to 5. Good thing I have both a two, and a five year old to test this game on.

The visual department of Alphabet Circus is bright colorful, and cute. The monkey, elephant, and clown are all very family friendly. They are happy, approachable, and friendly to children. The colors on the controller mat do not match the colors on the PS2 controller, but the shapes do. My children had some problems with that.

Alphabet Circus has excellent sound bytes. I love how the characters thank the children for playing with them. I can not remember the last video game I played that did that. The music goes along with the circus motif in a way that brought joy to our household. There are absolutely no offensive sounds in this PS2 video game.

There are a lot of fun mini games that children will enjoy. Like the other Konami Kids Playground video games there are twelve mini games. If you need to teach your children the alphabet, and have a Playstation 2, then Alphabet Circus is a video game you should consider purchasing. Only one child can play at a time, so it can also be an opportunity to teach sharing.

Like I previously mentioned my kids had some problems with using the PS2 controller over the controller mat. I prefer the controller mat because they can jump around and get some energy out. This works especially well on really cold, or rainy days. There is some definite intelligent design to the fun educational lessons found inside Alphabet Circus. It took a little bit of assistance from me, but both of my kids found Alphabet Circus to be fun.

Konami is doing a wonderful thing by releasing Konami Kids Playground Alphabet Circus on the Playstation 2. This is the perfect usage for a video game console. Learning of the alphabet is not the easiest thing for a child, but doing so in a fun, and encouraging manner smooths over the rough edges. I will be recommending this video game to pastors, friends, and extended family members. I would love to see more video games in this in the near future, especially on a video system like the Nintendo Wii.
