Custom Robo Arena

Custom Robo Arena is quite a surprise for the WMG. This game follows a fantasy universe where people with high mental energy control robots with their mind. They have their robots fight other robots. Each of these robots (aka robos) have three weapons, different body structures, and specialized legs (which can fly around longer, run faster, etc.). Fast reflexes as well as good strategy apply to this game.

Custom Robo Arena has a very bright and colorful world that reminds the WMG of the Megaman Battle Network series. There are some good details, and wholesome graphics in this game. There is an occasional female character who has attire on that is questionable. It did not quite make it to the level of enticement to lust, but worth a mention. The WMG really likes the anime artwork style in this game. There are also images of robot violence.

The rockish sounds in Custom Robo Arena really hit the spot for the WMG. The music is very upbeat, and all of the special effects sounds works perfectly. The speakers of the Nintendo DS really pump out this music quite clearly.

Nintendo makes sure that the video games that carry their name have a lot of replay value to them. The level of robo customization is simply amazing. The length of this role playing combat game is very nice. But Nintendo did not stop there, for they included local wireless, and Nintendo WFC to compete against your friends online. Playing friends online is a lot of fun and can seriously teach the player (editor: WMG in this case) a lot about strategy, along with proper robo customization.

The WMG loves video games that allow either the touch screen, or the old button configuration in many areas of the game. Custom Robo Arena. The layout of the controls - especially the weapons really keeps the action going at a frantic pace. If the player loses too many times against the same computer controlled opponent a handicap screen comes up. This allows the player to select a health point handicap in order to make the match easier. This consideration to alleviate frustration is a wonderful addition.

The WMG is pleased to report that Custom Robo Arena has a full traditional family unit in it that eat breakfast and dinner with each other every single night. The player gets to help others, and the police. There is a character out for revenge, but it looks more like justice to the WMG. This game does have a lot of shooting in it, so please be aware of that. The WMG would like to see some sequels to this franchise. It was the WMG’s pleasure to be able to play and review this game. Nintendo did a lot of great things for the family with the release of this game.
