Cars Mater-National Championship

It is always awesome to see sequels to games that have been well received here at Family Friendly Gaming. Plenty of us (WMG included) had a blast playing the first Cars video game from THQ. Well they heard the word, and answered our call. Cars Mater-National Championship continues the story of Lightning, Mater, and company in Radiator Springs. Lightning is building a race track in town, and a lot of international cars have come to challenge the champ. Fans of the original video game can expect more of the same in greater abundance. The long drought of good games on the Playstation 3 (PS3) may finally be over with releases like this one.

Some of the graphical capabilities of the PS3 are exhibited in a real awe inspiring way within Cars Mater-National Championship. There is a shine, and a gloss to most of the cars, tracks, and locations that make the WMG feel like being inside the Cars universe. There is a sweet amount of attention to detail, and a lot of fantastic animation. Cars can accidentally bump into each other, but theres nothing violent about it.

The audio is spectacular in Cars Mater-National Championship. The music is more of the same with some new tracks in there that fit perfectly. The PS3 does hiccup every time a new song starts playing, not bad - just noticeable. The voice acting is spot on perfect with a lot of humor inside this game.

There are so few good and clean video games on the PS3. Cars Mater-National Championship is one such game though. There is a lot to unlock in this game, and a lot of areas to explore. This is one of the few PS3 video games that is worth your hard earned dollars, and you can take that to the bank.

THQ added in a new tilt feature in turns that adds a wonderful new play mechanic to Cars Mater-National Championship. The tracks are more of a challenge, and the button layout works perfectly. There is a lot of fun to be found playing this game. The storyline has a lot of intelligent humor along with excellent hints in case the player is not sure where to go next.

The WMG highly recommends Cars Mater-National Championship. It is safe for the entire family, and fun as well. This is the kind of a video game that churches could use in teen gatherings. Hopefully this game is a sign of more family friendly video games making it to the PS3. Family Friendly video games are definitely the only thing that can save that system from last place.
