Bomberman Land Touch

It’s the Grand Opening of Bomber Island, an Amusement Park with tons of attractions! You’ll find non-stop excitement as you explore the island, unlock its secrets, and challenge your friends to a variety of games! But, beware of Cap’n Boom and his band of Bomber Pirates! Bomberman Land Touch! will be the first Bomberman Land to make it on American borders. Bomberman Land is very popular in Japan, and due to it’s success, America is getting it on the Nintendo DS. In the latest version of our favorite bomb blastin’ hero, he wakes up one morning to discover he is not sleeping in his bed anymore! In fact, all of his friends are there, too! Cheerful White, Cool Black, Pretty Pink, Kid Blue, and Bookworm Green are on Giant Gold’s (the bad boy, trying to impress everyone) ship; destination: Bomber Island! Everything seems too good to be true. A paid trip to the new Amusement Park? What exactly is going on? Is Giant Gold playing another trick? Cheerful White will investigate the Island which is in four groups: Spade, Diamond, Heart, and Club.

The graphics of TBL bring you a crisp, and clear environment. The models clearly represent who they are, the environments are detailed and beautiful, and best of all, it is just fun and exciting to look at. Environments change in every part of the park. As you go deeper into the amusement park, things change, and there are many places to explore. Tunnels, caves, and sewers connect the theme park together. Occasionally, you get the trolley and paddle boat to explore the other parts of the island. Mini games have a more simplistic look.

The sounds are very pleasing to listen to! Music changes depending on the area you are visiting. The music in each zone fits with the environmental attitude. Spade Zone has music like you would hear at your Six Flags or some amusement park, while Club Zone (a jungle area) has Tropical music. Mini games also have changing music, some silly and goofy, to frantic and fast paced. One of my favorite Mini games allows you to play your own music!

This will be the first Bomberman title to take advantage of Nintendo’s Wifi Connection. Multiplayer is categorized into two: Wifi, and Near-range. Battle for Near-range allows the host and 7 other players to play with one game card. As you guys know, I love Bomberman Battles! It is very clean, and everyone can have fun. The rules apply from other titles. Be the last Bomberman standing! Violence, although Bomberman and friends use bombs, have a Looney-Toons sense of humor. There is nothing parents should worry about with this game. Wifi has several modes. There is Worldwide, which the name explains itself. Countrywide, again, explains itself. Rival mode is a match where people of your general skill level go. For a close game, go here. Friends use the unique, safe, and easy set up of friend codes, given by your DS game card, to give to friends, and battle with them.

This game is indeed, a rare gem to find on your DS. It is fun for the whole family. The RPG elements and Mario Party style mini games bring Bomberman a new look in the States. Violence is almost nonexistent. And this game encourages you to use what God gave you, a brain. Wifi is a blast, the mini games are fun and challenging, the music and story is fun, and family friendly. I hope to get my hand on Bomberman Land Wii, which is rumored for 2007 release.
