Bomberman 64 Second Attack

Everyone’s favorite bomber is back! This time around, he is in a full 3-D environment with his puzzle solving action! In case you didn’t know, Bomberman has taken a few ventures into the 3rd dimension, but this one is like no other. With a fixed camera, it makes the game a whole lot easier on the player. The main goal is simple. Solve the puzzles to get from point A to point B, and sometimes point C. It ranges from pulling switches to finding the secret elevator. There are many unique and challenging levels, so put you “thinking cap” on! Although it may just seem like a puzzle game, it has a platformer style attitude. One day, while patrolling the Galaxy, Bomberman was terrified to see a giant black hole. It was not an ordinary black hole, though. An evil organization (the Elemental Knights) is secretly planning to conquer the galaxies by sucking them in the black hole. Well, as luck would have it, Bomberman and his heart of gold decided to see what was happening; then his ship lost power, and before he knew it, Bomberman was knocked out cold. Can Bomberman make it out safely?

The graphics of Bomberman 64: the Second Attack! show just what the Nintendo 64 can really do. The environments are colorful, enemies and heroes alike are both beautiful, and you can easily tell what is what (unlike his first time into 3D - Bomberman 64.). Behold the true power of the Nintendo 64!

The sounds are also very well done. The music keeps you inside the game, as well as the sound effects giving you a “life like” experience. From the fast paced Mission mode music to the bouncy and exciting multiplayer tunes, it keeps you ready to see what’s next! I love it! More, please! It is also very enjoyable to listen to sound test!

Multiplayer is considered to be the best part of any Bomberman game. This game is no different. Multiplayer is wild and crazy, while players can still keep their dignity. With all 6 modes of gameplay, it will keep you busy. It is fun and clean, so no problems here. All violence is in “Looney Toons” style humor. There are many obstacles in Multiplayer (which you can control). This is a real game of “Brain over Brawl” so think all your actions through!

Controls of the game can be an issue to our younger players. The button lay-out is difficult to learn, to kids and adults as well. Once you get used to it, it becomes natural. Practice makes perfect, right? There are no control lay-out plans, so you are stuck with this only option.

This game, as good as it may be, can be dangerous to a sensitive player. Although no blood and gore appear in this game, there is a strong amount of death and destruction (which is extremely strange for a Bomberman title). Sadly, it is a necessary part of the game. I would not recommend this title to players who are bothered by or not ready for such themes. This game belongs to the hardcore player. All in all, there is no real reason you shouldn’t pick this one up in this reviewers humble opinion. By today’s standards, Bomberman 64: The Second Attack is what we could say is a prequel to Bomberman Generation and Bomberman Jetters for the Gamecube. While this game has a “dated” feel to it, it stands strong. It is fun and exciting. If you would like to know where to get this game, please check Amazon.com or Ebay.com.
