Solomon Says Bible Trivia Volume One Anything Goes

Cloud 9 Games, Inc. burst onto the video game scene recently with "Solomon Says Bible Trivia Volume One: Anything Goes" for the Personal Computer (PC), and Macintosh (MAC). Cloud 9 Games, Inc. has received a little help from their friends, in the form of Digital Praise taking up the publishing responsibilities. This is a buzzer styled trivia video game that reminds this reviewer of the "You don't know Jack" games. The announcer has some very biting, and witty commentary on the players performance. The different selectable players (many are unlockable) also have comments of their own when the player answers correctly.

The graphics are done extremely well for this style of game. The fact that the company president worked previously at a large game developer shows. Certain questions have visual effects that are not only surprising, but executed quite well. There are images that promote a relationship with God, and wholesome images are also used properly. The graphics of this game are very bright and colorful as well.

The sounds in Solomon Says are done quite well. The different characters have very distinct, and varied voices. They are usually appropriate with their comments, however there is one issue this reviewer has. When the player misses questions at times the announcer tells the player they need to study their Bible some more. It is understood that the intent of the developer was humor, however this would not go over well with a non-believer. The other issue with the sounds is at times the sound bytes can be cut off by other sound bytes, or be repeated too often. There are sounds that promote the teachings of the Holy Bible.

There are over five hundred questions, in five different categories along with quite a few unlockable playable characters. This is a game that has a ton of fun in the replay department. This is a game that this reviewer feels is worth the money for some good (pretty wholesome) Christian video game entertainment. This game can be played with one person, but is better played with a few people. It is also playable on the Digital Praise dance pad. The different difficulty settings are handled extremely well.

The controls on the keyboard work really well, and the dance pad interface is decent (editor: read the Dance Praise review for issues with the dance pad peripheral). This is a real fun party game (as long as the negative comment does not bother you). Many of the questions in this game can be tough (especially on some of the higher settings).

Solomon Says promotes a Christian world view, has good teachings in it, and is one this reviewer would recommend to her pastor. There is a kids version of Solomon Says in development, and more games in this series. This is a great series, and it is this reviewers hope that they look at the humorous comments - try and find funny things to say that are more positive.
