Super Street Fighter IV

Super Street Fighter IV

Fighting games do not exactly fit under the umbrella of family friendly. I was curious about Super Street Fighter IV though. The ESRB gave it a 'T' for Teen rating with these descriptors: Alcohol Reference, Mild Language, Suggestive Themes, and Violence. So is there a lot of bad stuff in it? Well yes, but there is also some rays of sunshine. With so much darkness in Super Street Fighter IV, it may seem strange to talk about rays of sunshine. I purchased this game on a day after Thanksgiving sale because of such a low price, and because I wanted to get this game covered. I picked up the Playstation 3 version, and know this game is also on the Xbox 360. The artistic direction of this franchise is interesting. The characters have been fleshed out to look almost super human. The animation has lots of bounces including a rotund gentleman who may disgust you. Capcom produced a solid sequel to the franchise in terms of fighting. Too many of the female characters are exposing numerous areas of their bodies. There are a ton of characters to beat the game with and see all their anime endings. The training mode, and various options make Super Street Fighter IV accessible to more people as long as they are teenagers or older. Numerous online modes are available for those seeking competition. I ran into issues with the standard PS3 controller in terms of pulling off certain moves. Some would go when I wanted to, and then pop up other times. The AI of the computer is extremely cheap in terms of counter attacks. I am working on a full comprehensive review in a future issue of Family Friendly Gaming. {11/29/2010} - Sam
