Dragon Quest IX Sentinels of the Starry Skies
Few role playing games have been released with such pomp and circumstance. Dragon Quest IX Sentinels of the Starry Skies is one of those games that millions have anticipated, played, and continue to play. Family Friendly Gaming is working on a review of Dragon Quest IX Sentinels of the Starry Skies into our schedule as time allows. For some odd reason a reviewable copy did not arrive, so the RPG Master had to go out and purchase a copy. Publishers who send us games get first priority, and games we purchase come after. Players start out as an angel like character who helps villagers. Collect the benevolence, and bring that to a tree. The angel like characters worship the tree, and are eagerly awaiting fruit in the form of fyggs. The game drastically shifts when this happens, and the player is now mortal. Well sort of. There are still certain celestial skills that exist. Players embark upon a lengthy quest with a fantastic system of professions. Dragon Quest IX Sentinels of the Starry Skies is not all good though. Players must murder tons of monsters throughout the game. There is conversations with the dead, and a fair amount of female characters wearing little. The ESRB's E10+ (Everyone 10+) is earned by this Nintendo DS cartridge. The lengthy list of descriptors is Alcohol Reference, Animated Blood, Comic Mischief, Fantasy Violence, Mild Language, and Mild Suggestive Themes. Lord willing a review for this game will appear in a future issue of Family Friendly Gaming {09/19/2010} - RPG Master
