3D Dot Game Heroes
You have probably been following our coverage of 3D Dot Game Heroes in recent issues of Family Friendly Gaming. This game caught my eye quite a long time ago. I was intrigued by an old school role playing game that was done with a lot of small blocks. To be fair, not everything in 3D Dot Game Heroes is done in little blocks. Things like the water are not done that way. At least I do not think they are. Speaking of the water, it looks fantastic on the Playstation 3. Atlus was kind enough to give Family Friendly Gaming a trade demo of 3D Dot Game Heroes. We are getting a sneak peak, and I am passing that along to our wonderful readers. This game reminds me of the Legend of Zelda in so many ways. There are six sages with six orbs. They sealed away a great evil in a dark orb. That dark orb has been captured, and it is up to the player to find the six sages, to be able to stop the great evil from resurfacing. Enemies are done in little blocks as are the characters in the game. Hitting them with your sword will have their little blocks scatter. This reminds me of the Lego video games, and does not feel as violent. The music in 3D Dot Game Heroes will bring back memories because many of the tunes sound familiar. Atlus has done a fantastic job with this game, and I can not wait for the final product to arrive on May 11, in the year of our Lord 2010. {03/19/2010} - Paul
