Fawlty Towers

Fawlty Towers The Complete Collection was a birthday gift that I decided to do a preview on. I hope to be able to work this 3 disc DVD set into a review for a future issue of Family Friendly Gaming. John Cleese is the British comic who headlines this BBC television show. The majority of the humor revolves around Basil Fawlty's (played by John Cleese) many character flaws. His worst one is his propensity to lie. Many of these lies lead to even worse lies, and it eventually spirals out of control. I also found a few language issues in Fawlty Towers, making it very inappropriate for children. There is some violence on this DVD as well. Basil whacks a few people around, and some of that comes back to haunt him.  A women gets groped multiple times in one show. With all of that said there are some very hilarious scenes, that usually involve some form of frantic behavior. Basil does show some wonderful backbone when it comes to not letting guests stay together if they are not married. The show has him called different names for holding to a traditional viewpoint of relationships.  {09/01/2009} - Paul
